Since our inception and still today, our greatest asset by far are our people: the engineers, machinists, technicians, and customer service managers make Jenkins what we are. Our people power and drive us forward—they are the human energy and ingenuity that have kept us going for more than a century, and have kept all things electromechanical moving, too.
Wayne Hall, P.E.
VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING
LEVEL 3 VIBRATION ANALYST
Wayne Hall has more than 40 years of experience in electrical engineering and is a second-generation Jenkins employee. In fact, his grandfather worked at Jenkins for 60 years as a winder. Prior to Jenkins Electric, Wayne was a student of Edward Jenkins, and was an engineer at Duke Power, where he gained a broad understanding of power distribution and circuit design. In his 37 years at Jenkins Electric, Wayne has served as Electrical Engineer and is now our Vice President of Engineering, but still spends a great deal of his time on the shop floor, hands-on. He provides diagnostic services to our clients that have complex requirements, and performs vibration analysis and consulting to both improve and prolong the service life of their equipment.
SENIOR ENGINEER, TRANSFORMERS & MOTOR TEST SUPPLY DESIGN
With more than 40 years of experience in electrical engineering, Larry began at Jenkins Electric in 1975 as the Transformer Department manager, handling product design, manufacturing, testing, sales and customer applications assistance. Over the next four decades, his duties expanded to include the design, development and sales of Jenkins Motor Test Supply Systems, in addition to co-developing and selling our test documentation systems. During his career, Larry has worked to develop and implement safer testing procedures and incremental product design improvements in our equipment, based on the availability of newer, better components and on the suggestions of our employees or customers.
Edward Jenkins, Jr., PhD, P.E.
CHAIRMAN, SENIOR ENGINEERING ADVISER
Edward Jenkins has more than 40 years of experience in electrical engineering. Prior to joining the family business, Edward was a professor at Edinburgh University in Scotland and UNCC. In 1971, he joined Jenkins Electric as Vice President. Here, he developed and improved repair procedures and test equipment for electrical motors and transformers. In 1993, Edward became President of Jenkins and was responsible for management of all industrial electrical equipment repair and sales. Edward now provides consulting and diagnostic services to clients that have complex requirements and specifications.
BSEE, SHOP ENGINEER
A recent addition to the Jenkins team, Enrique Morquecho has a degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso, and has also worked as a motor winder. With more than 15 years of experience, Enrique is certified as a Vibration Analyst in both ISO Category I and ISO Category II, holding licenses until 2020 and 2022, respectively. Providing support and guidance to our technicians, Enrique works in electrical testing, surge testing and vibration analysis, as well as provides electrical consultation and troubleshooting to our customers.
LEAD PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
CERTIFIED LABVIEW DEVELOPER
A member of the Jenkins team for more than 11 years, Mike Stewart began by wiring and fabricating test panels, expanding into test system software and hardware development, from configuration and fabrication to integration. He brings a unique perspective to our company, being both hands-on with test system creation and software development. Mike currently oversees test system user experience, from software development to identifying and executing incremental improvements of the overarching test system. He leads key test product development, including motor test systems, core loss testers and oven temperature modules.
BSEE, AUTOMATION ENGINEER
Coming to Jenkins by way of El Paso, Texas, Humberto was previously a building automation and control engineer. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso, and he is currently certified or trained in 5001A AX Tridium Niagara Ax Framework, ABB low voltage/US9110 ACH550 DSP, and ASHRAE Introduction to HVAC design. A new addition to the Jenkins team, Humberto leads the implementation of online condition monitoring for Jenkins customers in addition to vibration analysis and new product development. He also assists in the programming and installation of Motor Test Systems.
Iain Jenkins is the third-generation to work in the family business, beginning with Jenkins at the age of 14. With a focus on employee and business development, he can most often be found on the shop floor rather than in his office. Doing right by his employees and their families is one of his top priorities, as is building strong, lasting relationships with customers. After earning his MBA from Emory University, Iain returned to Charlotte to work alongside his father, Edward, and the many employees who’ve known him since he was a child.
VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE
With a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Diane has worked at Jenkins for the past 12 years, managing all finances and accounting. She also leads our administrative team, and is responsible for their support of the operations at Jenkins. Diane’s goal is to always strengthen the relationships between the Jenkins office and shop staff, working closely with both.
VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
Responsible for all aspects of the Jenkins brand and marketing efforts, Crystal Bristow's role at Jenkins perfectly blends her upbringing and marketing industry experience. She also doesn't mind getting her hands dirty, a must-have at Jenkins. Prior to joining the team, she worked with Jenkins on the agency side for several years as a strategic and branding partner. Focused on the idea of one company, one team, Crystal immerses herself, and she's just as likely to be learning on the shop floor as developing an insightful marketing strategy.
