Shipping & Receiving Manager

The Shipping and Receiving Manager position is an essential role to keep our business moving quickly and efficiently. This role requires an active, fast-paced person with a team player attitude who excels at organization, time management, and taking on several tasks throughout the day. The Shipping and Receiving manager verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.


  • Ships manufactured products both domestically and internationally.
  • Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with internal departments to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Operates lift trucks or hand trucks and forklifts to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
  • Maintains inventory and collaborates with internal teams for reordering when supply is low.
  • Enters items into ACS to track various aspects of goods and record new parts.
  • Makes arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order.
  • Keeps an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.


  • Willing to perform other tasks (not listed above) as assigned by the Foremen. An attitude of “that’s not my job” conflicts with our goal of serving our customers in a timely manner, and will not be tolerated.
  • Share knowledge with co-workers that will help them complete their projects efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with co-workers.
  • Maintain a record of consistent attendance, stay on task during work hours, and be willing to work overtime when asked by the department foreman. (Attendance Expectation: M-F 8:30am – 5:30pm)
  • Provide feedback to company management on areas where improvements can be made.
  • Represent the company favorably in interactions with customers and vendors.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees as assigned.
  • Perform all activities using proper safety equipment and procedures. Provide feedback to company management regarding unsafe equipment and procedures as appropriate.


  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Experience working with shipping platforms including WorldShip, FedEx and a variety of freight vendors.
  • A teamwork mindset and attitude are required for this position.


  • Working conditions are typical for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.  Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment including, but not limited to; safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and ear protection. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted.
